Whew is the exclamation as this monkey if off my back!
I finished the main part of this blanket before Josie was born probably in the vicinity of 800 hours then it took me feeling bad so spending 2 1/2 hours and sewed the back on and put the binding around it. Another hour to tie it off and the little girl finally has her handmade quilt!! I have talked to myself a lot on Sunday. Procrastinate in the first degree.....that is me!!
It is the season for the villages to come out. Gary is home for a few days so it is going to happen this week. He even has been so nice as to buy me two new pieces for Christmas gifts. One is the Depot downtown Sioux Falls and the other is a house with Santa and the reindeer's circling the house and some ice skaters. I can't wait to get them all in place I love the lights on at night... I will have to take a picture when we are done.

Oh my goodness where oh where did the time go? I look out my window on this last day of Nov. and see light snow and they are telling us it is going to get worse this week end. I need food and projects to keep me busy over the week end. We have a 1st birthday party for little Josie!! Where has that 12 months gone? I remember sitting and waiting her arrival and it seems like a blink of an eye. She is walking( like a bowlegged Czech woman), her favorite words are no,no and don't!! Imagine that! she is a great little girl with lots of personality!! Smart as a whip! I am excited at this time about Christmas. This weather is making me take a detour this week end but I still hope that the hype is worse than the storm which does happen many times!!

No wonder I was so tired last week!
Just looking thru the pictures makes me tired! Lots of great memories and some major fun was had in the last few months. Oh yes my brother Pat got married on Sunday so we have had a quick visit with him. He now has a new wife her name is Ruby Rezac for anyone that does not know. I need to hit the hay just looking and posting these pictures. I am not caught up and I hope to be better than I have been in posting my updates.
A Summer of Fun
Time has gone so quickly it was the end of May and school was out and it is two weeks until they are back at school. Maybe it is my age that makes time be on the fast track! We had the greatest trip to Colorado. We survived the city and found out way to Becki's house. We rode a raging river and managed to have a lot of good laughs and a few scary moments. We just had so much fun in a few days and it went way too fast and we were in the car and back to SD before we knew it.
Nicki was home last week for a few days also and I am sure it went just as fast for her as it did for us. Five days always seems like so long when you are planing the vacation and five days of work never goes as fast as five days of fun!
Steve and Dana finally sold their house in Nebr. so they are packing up their belongings to move back to SD this week end. I am sure they will be so glad to be over all this stress they won't know what to do with themselves. The girls are very glad to be staying in SD. According to them their Grandma just has party after party and they always have to miss out when they are in Nebr.!! They have so much fun with all of their cousins so I am very happy for them and well yes for me also!!

An artist in residence
Thought this was a pretty creative t-shirt that Max made. I knew you girls would love it. Dana thought that it would be a great project for the kids. It has not been as bad as I thought it would be with the big kids out of school. I hope the weather improves so they can go to the pool in the afternoon. It has been only in the 70's here. Very cool nights so our pool is very chilly and Danni is having a birthday party on the 15th here so lets hope things improve.

3 great days
Friday afternoon I had a dental appointment so I got to start my week end a little early. It is always so nice to get outside of the city and see how pretty the country is. Black dirt, little tiny corn rows and rivers over their banks. I had a great check up and we went out for a nice dinner and then home again, home again. On Saturday I bought and planted many flowers around the house. I hate and love it but this year it was a very pleasant day and things went quickly. Sunday it was off to Wagner to decorate the graves. It was such a nice day. It was not hot and the wind was just a pleasant breeze. We have gone and the flowers have almost blown off the graves. It was so grim and ugly when we arrived but everything looked fresh and new when we left. I used Qudoba cups so everyone would enjoy them and told them what everyone was doing and where they were in life. I know they already know it was just a little bragging time for me!!! Yesterday I planted flowers and put up my lights around both decks and mowed the grass and it all looked so beautiful. I love a job well done. We grilled steaks and Scott and Paige came over and the kids played and had so much fun...then the two boys stayed for a little sleep over. So all and all I would say it was one glorious week end. Today was the first day of no school and over all I think it was a good day but then I have Dana for a helper this year. haha
